The day has finally come.
My son, as part of a team of student leaders at CSULA, will be joining the other 14 team leaders, at the EcoCar2 educational workshop at Mathworks. It will be held just outside Boston, MA and for me, it will be the first time he will be flying across the Country without either my Husband or I in attendance. I am so proud of him, but just a tiny bit scared. Especially since his airline is doing all sorts of work disruptions right now.
We are hopeful that he gets to spend his Saturday afternoon with my brother and his family, too, before flying back home on Sunday.
About that flight home...it will be during the 2nd day of Carmageddon, which I wrote about HERE.
Though his flight is due in late at night and hopefully we won't have major traffic issues at that time of night, it just adds to the uncertainty. Oh and did I mention that he has a tight connection in Dallas?
Yes, I am a Mother and that's what we do. We worry.
Good luck my son. Have a great time!
I know it will be a hard time for you, as you said your are a Mother. However your son is smart and I think he will do fine, But I wish you and Justin all the best, and also Mitch too :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it will go fine. We packed as a team last night and somehow, a miracle occurred. It all fit and with a suit, no less! We even got his tripod into the big bag. This kid has good packing mojo. :-)
