Snow Pictures From Mount Wilson

Since we so rarely see anything even resembling snow at our elevation, I was definitely taking pictures the other day, when we visited Mount Wilson. I thought I would post a few.
The first thing that caught my attention, after the commanding view of mountains and clouds you see in the second picture, was this desert type plant. It looked so much like a porcupine, that I had to take it's picture. What always astounds me is the pine trees and evergreens and then the cactus type succulents, within feet of each other, coexisting in such a inhospitable extreme climate.
What a really beautiful thing to see.

In the second shot, you can see
that those clouds came within feet of the top of the mountain. I had never seen anything so beautiful. I felt like I had one of those horizon pools...only ours was horizon snow.

Here is a picture of the park area of Mount Wilson. It's a lovely place to stop and eat lunch, although it was officially closed for the season... :-)
