Super Tuesday - Or Trying To Vote In An Election

Less then a week to go until Super Tuesday. This year California votes on that day, adding our states voting power to the Presidential Primary. We woke up on Wednesday morning and found out that, the whole race is coming apart. Normally we vote absentee ballot and do our Election choosing on the Sunday before. Our family gets together and spends the evening in discussion, but due to the huge amount of rain on Sunday, my brother in law and his girlfriend didn't make it up here. That was probably a good thing, because 2 major candidates dropped out of the race on Wednesday. So here we are, trying to figure out what to do and who to vote for, just me and my husband. Unfortunately for us, it is late and my son had to go to bed. May I state for the record, that I truly miss the bouncing around of ideas and differences in opinions. It makes for a lively evening and my son usually takes a lead role. Something both my husband and I are quite proud of. Most children now days, have no opinions, but my son is always listening and learning and coming up with opinions on issues and candidates.

Oh well, I guess it's just us two and we should get back to it...

  1. Your son is only one or two years from voting on his own, so this sort of citizenship training is a great experience for him.

On another note, do I see that you're still using punch card ballots?

My son votes in November! I can't believe it.

  3. I was asked via an email, if we vote consensus, or differently, which I think is a good question and I would like to address here, where others might see it. Being my son doesn't yet vote, he is in on the discussion, but not casting a ballot. This will change, in November. :-)
The other 4 of us do, for the most part try to work toward consensus. I think I may have voted different, one time for a candidate I just could not vote for. It happens...
