2 years ago this month, I took a trip to a store front business on Melrose Ave, called The Hive. It was a free mini concert to show off the band, 30 Seconds Tom Mars, new CD. I got to hear 3 songs that afternoon, including the title track of their just released CD, "This Is War".
I had such a good time, that I went to see them with my Marine son in May of the following year (2010). I truly thought that this tour stop would be the only one for our region, but they returned several other times over the course of the past 2 years.
Last week, they had 2 shows in New York City and broke the Guinness Book Of World Records for the most tour dates in support of a single album, 309 dates. They are tired, they are beyond tired and yet they look pretty up for receiving the award that they earned with lots of blood, sweat and tears. From what I know, they are taking a break and may even disband the group. We shall see what the future holds for them, in this regard.
They did indeed fight a war...and WON!
Congratulations guys and good luck in all your future endeavors and your lives.
