Bike Trains On The Metrolink

I posted this on Facebook, but thought for those who are non-Facebook people, I would post it here, too.

This is one of two bike cars that Metrolink has added to their trains. It holds bikes on the entire lower level. Passengers who want to sit, go up to the upper level, where chairs are still in place. To call attention to this new service, they decided to wrap 2 cars, this one and another. The rest just have the words Bike Car on them, with the normal old Metrolink paint job.

As a former daily commuter, I think this is a fabulous idea. Re-purpose old outdated cars, for a new use. Bike riders can be assured that they will find a space on the train and know exactly where to stand, to get one. Back in my commuting days, 2 bikes to a car was the limit.

If it wasn't so expensive, I would love to commute this way again. Oh well...
