There it is, Downtown Los Angeles framed by the mountains around the upper Glendale area.
One of the ways I drive to work, when I have to, is on a Freeway called the I-210 to the California 2 (AKA the Glendale Freeway). About a mile after that transition, you come to an area that is basically remote with a few houses on the side, but otherwise, natural. That is when Los Angeles comes into view. You can only see it for about a mile, but when the fog isn't blocking it and the smog is sort of under control, you do indeed see quite a nice view of the distant Downtown area.
I like it and I hope you enjoy it, too.
I like it, but what happen during the Santa Ana's wind's on Friday? Hope everything is
ReplyDeleteOK :-)
Ah, the 2! A relatively quiet little piece of freeway that is a gem! Thanks for this. You always touch my heart and bring me so many happy LA memories with your posts!
ReplyDeleteMartha: It was quite the thing. Our area wasn't too bad. We got the wind first, for some reason. We had 2 trees down in our immediate area, but I didn't see either of them. Now LA, that was a totally different story. We had no power in parts of the Silverlake/Los Feliz/Hollywood areas and that meant 2 days of traffic signals out and neighborhoods without power. KCET has our own substation, so we had power, Thank God. We were supposed to go to a Magic Show on Thursday, but it was in Passadena and that was ground zero for major problems with downed trees and such. It was canceled, thankfully.
ReplyDeleteFran: Truly I thank the Lord for the Glendale. Many a time recently, that is how I get home at night, or down to work when everything is going mad on the freeways. A little traffic back up during rush hour coming in, as you pass the 134, but otherwise, always clear and full speed. Yay!
